## 1. Work & identity

### Question

Do you work or are you a student?

### Your Turn

Describe your work or studies. State what you do and add one detail that is true for you.

### Model Answer

I’m currently working full-time as an AI agent developer. My usual working hours are from nine in the morning until half past six in the evening.

### Useful Expressions

- **I’m currently working as…**: Introduce the job or role you have at present.
- **My usual working hours are…**: Describe the hours you normally work.

## 2. What you enjoy

### Question

What do you enjoy most about your job?

### Your Turn

Name one thing you enjoy about your work or studies, explain why, and give an example.

### Model Answer

What I enjoy most is being able to turn my ideas into reality. As an AI agent developer, I can come up with creative ideas and use large language models to bring them to life. I find that incredibly rewarding.

### Useful Expressions

- **Turn ideas into reality**: Make an idea become something real.
- **Come up with creative ideas**: Think of new and imaginative possibilities.
- **Bring something to life**: Make an idea, plan, or creation real and active.
- **I find that incredibly rewarding.**: Say that an activity gives you a strong sense of satisfaction.

## 3. Skills & programming

### Question

What skills have you learned since starting your job?

### Your Turn

Describe a skill you have learned. Compare how you did something before with how you do it now.

### Model Answer

I think the most important skill I’ve learned is how to use AI to help me write code.

In the past, I used to write almost everything by hand. However, since March, I’ve been relying heavily on AI tools and using an approach called vibe coding.

Instead of focusing on every single line of code, I now spend more time thinking about the overall architecture of a project and its business logic.

This has completely changed the way I approach programming.

### Useful Expressions

- **I used to…**: Describe a past habit or situation that is no longer true.
- **Rely heavily on…**: Depend on someone or something a great deal.
- **Instead of focusing on…**: Introduce a different focus or approach.
- **The overall architecture**: The main structure and organisation of a system.
- **Business logic**: The rules that determine how a product or service works.
- **This has completely changed the way I…**: Describe a major change in how you do something.

## 4. Current projects

### Question

What projects are you currently working on?

### Your Turn

Describe a project you are working on or would like to try. Explain its purpose and one important part.

### Model Answer

I’m currently developing an AI agent that analyses players’ interactions during video games.

The system processes visual information and spoken conversations to better understand players’ emotional states and whether they’re enjoying the experience.

I’ve also worked on an AI-generated content platform that integrates different models, such as Seedance and Nano Banana, allowing users to generate images and videos.

### Useful Expressions

- **I’m currently working on…**: Introduce a project or task you are doing at present.
- **Analyse user interactions**: Study how people act or communicate when using a system.
- **Understand emotional states**: Recognise how people are feeling.
- **Integrate different AI models**: Combine separate AI models into one system or workflow.

## 5. Future plans

### Question

Why do you want to pursue a master’s degree?

### Your Turn

Explain one future study or career plan. Give a reason and a practical step towards it.

### Model Answer

I’m considering pursuing a master’s degree abroad, possibly in Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, or the US.

However, given the current economic situation, I’d prefer to work for another two or three years first.

That would give me enough time to save up some money and gain valuable experience from real-world projects.

After that, I’ll be in a better position to continue my education.

### Useful Expressions

- **Pursue a master’s degree**: Study towards a postgraduate qualification.
- **Given the current economic situation…**: Introduce the economic conditions you are considering.
- **Save up some money**: Keep money over time for a future purpose.
- **Gain valuable experience**: Build useful knowledge and skills through doing things.
- **Be in a better position to…**: Have better circumstances or resources for doing something.

## 6. Skills & inspiration

### Question

Describe a skill you’d like to learn in the future.

### Your Turn

Choose a skill you would like to learn. Explain what interests you and how you might begin.

### Model Answer

One skill I’d really love to learn is playing the piano.

Actually, I took piano lessons for a few weeks when I was about six years old, but I stopped and haven’t played since.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about taking it up again, mainly because I’m really inspired by film music.

For example, I absolutely love the soundtrack of Interstellar, which was composed by Hans Zimmer.

I’d love to learn to play some of his pieces one day.

### Useful Expressions

- **Take something up again**: Start doing an activity again after a break.
- **I’m really inspired by…**: Describe something that gives you ideas or motivation.
- **Film soundtrack**: The music used in a film.
- **A piece of music**: A musical composition or work.
- **I’d love to learn to…**: Express a strong wish to learn a skill.

## 7. After-work life

### Question

What do you usually do after work?

### Your Turn

Describe what you usually do after work or study. Explain how one activity helps you relax.

### Model Answer

I usually finish work at half past six, and then I head to the gym for a quick workout.

I normally get home around half past eight.

After dinner, I either practise English, play video games, or watch YouTube to unwind before going to bed.

### Useful Expressions

- **Head to the gym**: Go to the gym.
- **Have a quick workout**: Do a short session of physical exercise.
- **Unwind after work**: Relax after finishing work.
- **Either… or…**: Present two possible choices or alternatives.

## Natural Expressions

2. I started working in January.
3. I graduated in June 2025.
4. I want to learn to play the piano again.
5. The music was composed by Hans Zimmer.
6. Should I aim for a band score of 7 or higher?
7. From your point of view…
8. I go to the gym for a workout.
9. I can just watch YouTube.

## Five Expressions to Recall

Read the meaning and say the expression from memory before checking.

1. **I used to…** Meaning: Describe a habit or situation in the past.

Example: I used to write all my code by hand.

2. **Instead of focusing on…** Meaning: Shift your attention from one thing to another.

Example: Instead of focusing on every line of code, I focus on the overall architecture.

3. **I’m really inspired by…** Meaning: Describe something that gives you ideas or motivation.

Example: I’m really inspired by Hans Zimmer’s music.

4. **I’d love to take up… again.** Meaning: Return to an activity you once enjoyed.

Example: I’d love to take up the piano again.

5. **Become second nature.** Meaning: Feel natural through repeated practice.

Example: With enough practice, speaking English will become second nature to me.

## Your Practice Plan

1. Read the five recall expressions aloud.
2. Choose two questions and answer without looking at the models.
3. Check your grammar and how clearly you connect your ideas.
4. Answer again, changing the details so they reflect your own experience.

Learn useful sentence patterns rather than memorising every paragraph word for word. Aim for clear ideas, accurate grammar, and natural connections between points.
